This Acrylic painting on canvas was inspired by the drawing that Dash sent to the students during the lead up to the MCAN events. Zoe saw something inside that drawing, other than him trying to reach a lighthouse. He was surrounded by obstacles and problems that seemed to want to throw him over.” I wanted to tell him that there are people out there who want to help him. Just like a lighthouse. I painted the waves in a perspective of them almost crashing onto Dash’s boat, symbolising the overwhelming obstacles that SHELTER children face. I hope we are able to bring them to safety before they drown.”
The power of Zoe’s words speak for themselves. Let us break the wave that constantly threatens powerless children everywhere by starting with SHELTER.
